Motivation

Roomies keeps a shared household accountable for chores, so they actually get done. Without visibility, chores get forgotten and most people quietly feel they do more than their roommates. Roomies makes each person's contribution visible, backs completions with proof, and does the awkward reminding for you: the whole household is notified the moment someone completes a chore.

How it works

Voluntary claimingAnyone grabs any available chore and completes it with a photo. You get credit and health right away.
Trust but verifyCredit lands instantly, but roommates can dispute a completion within a window (default 12 hours, set by the admin). A dispute returns the chore to the pool and removes the credit.
Avatar healthYou start at 85% with room to grow. Health drains a little every day, gains 15% per completed chore, and resets every 30 days. Everyone can see everyone's health.
Household streakOne completion per day keeps the streak going. One person can't extend it more than 2 days in a row, so it rewards everyone chipping in.
NotificationsThe whole household is notified the moment someone completes a chore. Open any notification to jump straight to the proof.
Solo modeLive alone? The same accountability tools work solo, with no photos and no disputes.

Your avatar is your health

You choose your hair, facial hair, and accessories, but not your expression. Your avatar's face follows your chore health:

  2. 2.Tap the Share icon (the square with an up arrow).

FAQ

Do I need a photo every time?In a household with roommates, yes. The photo is your proof. Solo households don't.
What happens if my chore gets disputed?It goes back to the unclaimed pool and you lose the credit. Anyone can claim and redo it.
Why is my avatar health dropping?Health slowly drains over time; completing chores brings it back up. It resets to 85% every 30 days, leaving room to climb.
Can I keep the streak going by myself?You can do chores anytime, but the streak won't grow more than 2 days in a row from one person. It's meant to be shared.
How long do I have to dispute something?The admin sets the window (default 12 hours) in Settings.
